David has over 20 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and a board member at Greenfire Resources. Before that, as an independent consultant, he provided insolvency, restructuring, and corporate finance advisory services to the management team and board at Greenfire Oil and Gas.

In 2019, David co-founded Navitas Asset Management, a direct lending fund aimed at offering alternative financing solutions to the Western Canadian upstream energy sector, although it did not become operational due to the pandemic. His capital markets experience includes his role as an Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse, where he led Canadian and international oil and gas research coverage.

Earlier in his career, David held various positions of increasing responsibility at Talisman Energy Inc., including Operations Engineer in Central Alberta and the Alberta Foothills, Exploitation Engineer for the Southeast Saskatchewan Bakken, and a member of the North American Corporate Planning and Strategy group.

A native of Alberta, David graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Alberta. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
